Small Business Advantage Grant Program
Area of Focus:
Energy Efficiency and Conservation, Pollution Prevention
Eligible Applicants:
Businesses with 100 employees or fewer. Non-profits and tax-exempt entities are not eligible.
Eligible Projects:
Installing equipment that promotes energy efficiency or pollution prevention; adopting processes that reduce energy consumption, reduce consumption of raw materials, increase the reuse of raw materials on-site, or reduce the production of waste. The annual energy consumption or pollution savings for the project must be at least 20 percent for the system being replaced or 20 percent of the entire business’s energy consumption pollution output.
Some examples of eligible projects include energy efficient lighting, high efficiency furnaces, boilers and air conditioners, geothermal heat pumps, energy efficient refrigeration, process equipment upgrades, waste recycling systems and solvent recovery systems. Energy Star rated equipment is required if the type of equipment being installed is covered under the Energy Star program.
Funding Available:
50% reimbursement grants, up to $7,500 per applicant
Application Deadline:
January 15, 2010.
